Wishing to place the Tautavel Prehistory Museum among the reference museums in France and worldwide and to enhance the attractiveness of the regionthe Occitanie Region, the members of the CERP public establishment for cultural cooperation in Tautavel (the municipality of Tautavel, the urban community of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole, the University of Perpignan Via Domitia, the National Natural History Museum, the Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission, the French Ministry of Culture,
Ministry of Higher Education and Research) and the Department of the Pyrénées-Orientales have decidedto undertake a total renovation of the museum in order to better showcase its important collections and to modernise the infrastructure..

In order to build this major project, the Region wishes to collect the expectations, ideas and proposals of local residents, shop owners and all citizens who wish to participate.
